SOOOOOOO, I am not on the orientation trip. I am sitting in my dorm room. There was a bit of a mix-up today. I got up early, all psyched and ready to go. I got all the way to the hotel in Nagoya with my large bag and asked the front desk if I can leave my bag there before leaving to go to the airport. I was supposed to meet the program director at the airport and help welcome the newly arriving students. Imagine my surprise when the guy at the desk tells tells me that the IES students are not scheduled to start arriving until TOMORROW!!!! I was like :O "WHAT???" So not knowing what else to do I called my program director. I told him that today is the Friday the 27th and was I not supposed to meet him today at the airport? The poor man was horrified to discover that he had in fact emailed me the wrong date for the orientation. Indeed, it is to start on the 28th, not the 27th.
I told him it was no big deal and that I would see him tomorrow. Of course on the inside I was ticked off. By the time I got all the way back to my dorm I wasn't mad anymore and was laughing it off. I spent today napping, watching health videos, and the like. I went to have dinner at Pastel, a pasta restaurant I am addicted to near my dorm. Then I went to the super market to purchase snacks for tomorrow. All in all I am not upset about the mix up. One day early is certainly better than one day late. Things like this happen and the director is only human. So my orientation will in fact be starting tomorrow, this time for sure. :P
